Fans of liminal spaces, get ready — new information about the film adaptation of The Backrooms has appeared on the horizon.
A24 is preparing a feature-length horror film, The Backrooms, based on the viral universe of YouTuber Kane Parsons. The film will immerse viewers in a liminal nightmare familiar to fans of the YouTube video series, which has garnered nearly 100 million views.
In the plot, a psychotherapist travels to an unknown dimension to save her patient. The film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve, and is produced by James Wan.
The international premiere is scheduled for 29 May.
