Nvidia may withdraw the RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB from sale

29.12.2025

The RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB of memory may temporarily disappear from sale. Following reports of NVIDIA's plans to cut production of GeForce RTX 5000 series graphics cards amid a global memory shortage, new information has emerged about possible changes to the lineup.

According to the latest information, the RTX 5060 Ti version with 16 GB of video memory may be temporarily withdrawn from sale. According to Videocardz, this model proved to be the least profitable from a financial point of view for both NVIDIA and its partners. The reason is the high cost of GDDR7 memory, which significantly affects the product's margin. The 16 GB RTX 5060 Ti remains NVIDIA's cheapest graphics card with this amount of VRAM, making its production less attractive in the current environment.

If this model disappears from store shelves, the budget segment of the RTX 50 series will effectively be limited to the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti models with 8 GB of memory. Instead, the next affordable alternative will be the RTX 5070 with 12 GB of VRAM, which is positioned significantly higher in price. Thus, users looking for a new generation graphics card with more than 8 GB of memory will have to consider more expensive solutions.

Earlier, there were rumours online that NVIDIA and AMD might gradually move away from budget GPUs, especially models with large amounts of video memory. With memory costs making up a significant portion of the total cost of a graphics card, such decisions become economically unviable.

The situation is complicated by the shortage and rising prices of memory caused by the active development of the artificial intelligence market and growing demand from data centres. According to analysts, this could delay the next generation of NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards until 2028, and the GeForce RTX 50 SUPER line may not see the light of day at all.
