Embark Studios has unveiled a new trailer for the Cold Snap expansion and the Flickering Flames event, which starts tomorrow morning and runs until 13 January.
The event will feature an expedition window, new quests, the Goalie deck, and changed weather conditions on the maps. The event will add dynamic snowstorms and survival mechanics, forcing players to hide in isolated buildings. A new set of unusual cosmetics is also expected.
Snowstorms will reduce visibility, bodies of water will freeze, and open locations will become much more dangerous. Each raid will turn into a fight for survival, where the main threat will be frostbite — a new mechanic that gradually reduces the health of characters. This can only be avoided by regularly finding shelter, so players will have to review their builds and plan their evacuation more carefully.
Two additional activities will also appear during Cold Snap. Flickering Flames will offer 25 reward levels, which will become available after five rounds with new weather conditions. And within Candleberry Banquet, you can earn additional bonuses by collecting unique items and berries on the surface.
